The Groebe Clan mourns the death of Aunt Kay, wonderful aunt, mother, and grandmother.  She was born June 17, 1916 and passed away July 23, 2002.  Our love for her abounds with memories of living next door to Uncle Bill; helping Uncle Walter raised Keith, coming to all the Groebe picnics and showing all of us how to be a gracious person.

The silent tears that each must shed,
     Like rain upon the ground,
Will nourish all the love for her,
    Which did in life abound,
Our mother's labors now are over,
    Her earthly labor done;
And now she rests in peaceful sleep,
    Here rich rewards are won.
Her family sheds a silent tear,
The grandchildren, too, must mourn,
    But they again will meet her,
    When eternal life is born.

Beverly Hoffmeyer (Aunt Bev to all of us) was quoted in the "Life Times" a monthly newsletter published by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois because of her work as co-chair of the Craft and Charity Committee of the Glenview Senior Center.  She states, "The center has created a cooperative relationship with local businesses.  This is a very unusual bond between a senior citizens center and the larger community.  The Crafts Committee, for instance, sews cuddly teddy bears for Cook Country sheriffs to give to abused children.  They create kimonos and booties for nurses at Cook County Hospital to use in dressing newborns.  In turn, merchants donate items to be sold to raise money for the center."  We love you Aunt Bev for all the wonderful works you do.
