Ann Emily Groebe Hayden Prange

 Ann suddenly passed away
12:30PM EST, 29 November 2003, at Annaburg Manor, Manassas, Virginia.
She slipped away peacefully with a caring nurse at her side.  Although
we are deeply saddened that she's gone, we know she's no longer
experiencing the physical pain brought on by her failing liver, and her
increasing frustration at being dependent on others for simple tasks.
Her last coherent thoughts and discussions with Dotti and me were Sunday
last (11/20/03); we talked about your best wishes and encouragement,
reminisced about earlier times, and listened to a young girl play the
piano for a resident relative.  Regretfully, over the past week, her
memory began slipping while the medical staff did everything possible to
keep her chemicals in balance.  Unfortunately, her disease overwhelmed
all medical efforts to maintain her systems beyond keeping her
comfortable.
Dotti and I have arranged for a small private service this Wednesday, 3
Dec 2003, at 4PM for family at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service in
Stafford, VA.  Paul and Cindy will fly in Tuesday to join us.
After Wednesday, the funeral home will prepare Mom's remains for a
later trip to Chicago when convenient for family and friends to attend a
service and interment at Chapel Hills Gardens in Worth, Illinois.  Paul
and I believe April or May '04 might be a good time of year, but we can
accommodate an earlier time, if desired by you.
Thanks for your help and words of encouragement to mom as well as to
Dotti and me.  We truly believe mom's past year up close and personal
with her grandkids and great grandkids helped her delay her medical decline.
I'd appreciate you relaying this email to family and friends who may
not have internet access or are not listed as an adee.

Love,
    Mark and Dotti
